Country Issues ‘Shoot To Kill’ Order Over COVID Lockdown

The COVID-19 pandemic has taken the world by storm and world leaders are doing everything they can to stop the spread of the deadly disease.

In fact, one of those world leaders is so determined to stop the spread of the virus in his country, he’s authorized the use of lethal force.

During a televised address, President Rodrigo Duterte sent 57 million Philippine residents a harsh message saying, “Defy the lockdown order and the police will shoot you dead.”

He also warned people not to challenge the government because they would lose. Needless to say, the situation is quite dire.

Archie Gamboa, Philippine’s National Police Chief, was quick to defend the President saying he was just overemphasizing the importance of staying at home during this time. He said he didn’t believe the President was instructing law enforcement to use deadly force on troublemakers.

However, this is not the first time President Duterte has issued such controversial warnings. In the past, he’s ordered police to kill anyone suspected of drug dealing.

As of April 4th, the Philippines has recorded a total of 3,094 coronavirus cases and 144 deaths.

While many in America may have their opinions on how President Trump is handling the COVID-19 crises, at least we’re not being warned we’d be shot dead for not staying indoors.
