Vehicles can break down and leave you stranded at any time. With a little luck, it will happen where cell phone service is available or a landline is within walking distance to call someone for help. However, without these options, you need to be prepared to be stranded for a while. The staples of survival are what’s essential in this situation – specifically, food and water.

The experts at WeaponsJunkie showcase their method of emergency food storage in the following YouTube clip:

Arguably, the most important factor to keep in mind is that the temperature in a car fluctuates, sometimes drastically, depending on the weather. So, if you plan to store food in your vehicle, you need to make sure it isn’t temperature sensitive.

There are plenty of food options to store in your vehicle. For instance, beef jerky is an excellent source of protein and isn’t temperature sensitive, plus it tastes great! Of course, a prepper’s favorite food can’t be left out of your stash. Ramen noodles are easy to make and can be consumed without being cooked.

It’s a given that you’ll need water, so always make sure you have some in your vehicle. Make sure it isn’t in direct sunlight though.

On top of having drinking water, you should pack extra water to cook any food that may require it. You will also need a way to boil water to cook the foods that need it.
