Hangover Remedies Based on Science

(ModernSurvival.org) – There’s no way around it; hangovers suck. From a pounding headache and fatigue to nausea and stomach pain, the aftermath of a good time isn’t fun. Fortunately, there are a few ways to prevent or at least reduce the symptoms of a hangover.

The following video provides 4 steps to help overcome the nasty side effects of a hangover:

The first key to feeling better is to stay hydrated as alcohol dehydrates a person’s body. Eventually, this dehydration makes its way to the brain where it shrinks cells and thus, the brain. This leads to headaches, fatigue, dizziness, and increased thirst. Staying hydrated throughout the night doesn’t guarantee you won’t have a hangover, but it lessens the symptoms.

Including tomatoes or tomato juice in your night out can be helpful, even more so if you opt for something like vegetable juice that includes tomatoes. These juices add vitamins to your system, which naturally helps you feel better. But tomatoes specifically can slow down the rate at which you absorb alcohol, helping you avoid overloading your liver. The salt in the juice also helps you retain water, so you don’t get dehydrated as quickly. But anything with vitamin C supports liver function, which means your liver can better manage the toxins you’re throwing at it.
