President Vladimir Putin had it all wrong. He believed that when he launched his war on Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelensky would flee and the military and citizens would surrender because they were unable to stand up for their country and would greet Russian tanks with flowers.
The citizens of Ukraine are not giving up their fight, even when it seems like there’s no end in sight. The Ukrainian military continues to fight along with the rest of the citizens throwing molotov cocktails at tanks, “not flowers”.
Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has brought out the best in humanity. Although it is not yet clear how things will turn out, one thing that can be said with certainty: Putin won’t succeed! With every passing day his forces are creating more hatred between Ukrainians and Russian’s who didn’t hate each other before this war began. This is hatred for generations to come.
