CBP Chief Issues Incredible Statement About Border Wall Construction https://t.co/2lyChPPO9p

Despite the pandemic and national lockdown, the construction of the US-Mexico Border wall has actually picked up speed — hitting the 100-mile mark in January, and crossing the 150-mile mark just last month. So far 182 miles have been constructed in total. The administration looks to reach its goal of 450 miles by the end of 2020.
Despite strong opposition among Democrats, the wall remains a top priority to the Trump administration. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Commissioner, Mark Morgan, said that the COVID-19 pandemic should be a wake-up call to Americans. Morgan added that Americans should realize that border security is national security. Not everyone sees it that way.
Dozens of Democrats in the House wrote to the Trump administration calling for the construction to be halted. Arguments against the wall include environmental concerns, threats to Native American burial sites, and concerns for immigrants themselves. The left also claims the border wall will be useless — yet are pushing to close off public areas with fencing to combat COVID and enforce social distancing.

Regardless of the naysayers, President Trump continues to make good on his promise for secure borders. To Trump, and many Americans who support him, the wall is a large step in the right direction of stopping both human and drug trafficking into the United States.
