DIY All-Natural Hair Conditioner

DIY All-Natural Hair Conditioner

Wonder where you’ll get many of the items you’ve come to rely on when SHTF? Not just food, water or electricity but the small stuff — toilet paper, soap, toothpaste and hair products. What if you could make some of those, like hair conditioner, yourself?

You can, and it’s easy to do. Let’s look at the following all-natural hair conditioner recipe.

What you will need:

  • 3 tbsp jojoba oil
  • 6 tbsp coconut oil
  • 6 tbsp cocoa butter
  • 3 tsp aloe vera
  • 45-50 drops essential oil (your choice)
  • squirt bottle (I use empty dish soap bottles)

Add water to a 1-quart pot and place on low heat. Create a double-boiler by resting a glass bowl in the pot just above the water; add cocoa butter and coconut oil. Allow ingredients to melt and stir together. Remove from heat and cool for 5-10 minutes.

With mixture cooled, but not solidified, add remaining ingredients and stir. Use a funnel to pour mixture into the bottle. Replace lid. Use as you normally would, allowing the conditioner to set for at least 3 minutes before rinsing.

As stated, this conditioner can solidify a bit. If this happens in the bottle, run it under hot water until it’s liquid again. If you like this recipe and want to make shampoo, check it out here.
